CYCLING IN KINGSTON

Cycling is an environmentally-friendly and inexpensive form of transportation that also happens to be a great source of physical exercise. Cycling is also a great way to explore Kingston, especially the bustling downtown area. City cyclists are encouraged to take advantage of Kingston Transit's Rack and Roll program which makes it easy to hop on the bus with your bike at anytime.

Recreational cyclists might want to check out the BMX bike track at Woodbine Park, try the K&P Trail, pedal along the Waterfront Pathway, journey to Wolfe Island — or head to the Cataraqui Trail just outside of the city. Wolfe Island is known by locals and Kingston enthusiasts as the best place for cycling due to the minimal amount of road traffic and scenic views. Maps and more information are available at the Visitor Information Centre in Confederation Basin.

Wherever you cycle, please do it safely by learning and respecting roadsharing guidelines and observing the rules of the Highway Traffic Act. Remember to always wear a helmet, use hand signals, and use a light at night!
